Digestion on High Raw VS RT4/Starch based

Hey fruitypeeps!

I hope someone can give me a bit of explanation.

I have a long history of digestive issues. Possibly because of the fact i never was breastfed and raised on high meat diet(brazil..)

Life was just very very bad growing up with terrible digestion and no energy because of this. Not to mention the darkness and depression.

But when i found the high carb vegan diet i just knew this was the answer and so i dived right in.

But over the years experimenting with high raw and more starch or rt4 i have noticed that the more starch i eat the worse my digestion gets.

I exersice regularly, i drink water, 100 procent clean no stimulants etc and low fat.

It is as if a large part of the starch i eat just sticks to my colon and stays there causing my belly to keep growing slowly. On raw food i dont have this, i eliminate everything and when i stick to it within a couple of days my belly(full of waste) just decreases, like a balloon loosing air. This while eating the same amount of food, everything the same (fruit, sugar, greens, some overt fats here and there) I start having way more bowel movements and eliminate it all. It feels great because i also have more energy and feel more positive(waste gives negitive feelings)

But i dont understand why this is. I see left and right many people thriving on starch and fruit not having to eliminate one of the 2 for great digestion. Perhaps someone here has experienced the same? Its like i hold on to starch(cooked) waste in my whole body as fat and colon waste and the moment i do all raw it immediately start letting go of this. I have experimented with this for years on end.

There s really no other place to ask this. I hope someone can give me some ideas theories to why this happens or that it has happened to them too.

Thanks in advance

  • I know some people stay on raw foods because they find their digestion much better that way.

But if your issue is from your digestion not being fully healed then you might try Dr. Brooke Goldner's approach to healing. She has helped people doing low fat raw foods and those doing the McDougall style who were not healing fully or who had health issues develop even while on these diets. And with great success!  http://goodbyelupus.com/

Basically you would add a pound of greens and a half cup of freshly ground flax or chia seeds to your daily intake, preferably in a vita-mix for maximum nutrient absorption. You would also lower you intake of omega 6 fats to no more than a handful a day. And she recommends an ounce of water per pound of body weight up to a gallon or so a day for healing purposes.

Dr. Brooke does a free live webinar about every three months which is incredible! I also highly recommend her and her husband's books. Find her on youtube as well.
