Going Fully Raw...HELP

I want to eat fully raw. the thought of eating whole foods at its freshest pleases me.
However, i get bored very easily so i would need a lot of raw nice dinner recipes to keep me going!
But, if i wanted to, could i have the whole weekend to be a cooked weekend? or just have one day? or would that fuck up with my body?
i would probably have 1/2 cup of rice, or quinoa or 1 sweet potato..depends on what im feeling.
Would this be okay? or could i possibly gain weight doing this and just stick to fully raw...which is pretty hard whilst im living with my family / at university.
Thanks!

  • I just recently made a great sauce for my veg. Curry powder, tumeric powder, tahini, fresh ginger with some orange juice and water. Mix this till creamy and then pour it over the raisins, tomato, apple, cucumber, zuccini, fresh cilantro(or whatever you like in your dish)

  • Ive been on and off a vegan diet for years and I think the "bored" part is the hardest. You have to find positive outlets for that extra energy. If you take that extra energy and eat till you pass out then you will kinda negate the point of eating healthier.."Eat to live, dont live to eat"

  • Hey!

Everyone is different so you'll get wildly different advice!

For me personally I just try to eat as much raw food as possible. I never "plan" to eat cooked foods. For me personally if I try to always eat 100% raw, once in a while I'll have my rice or potatoes when I run out of fruit, and its not big deal.

But if I "plan" to eat cooked food, a few times a week, then I just end up eating it everyday.

Everyone is different, hey, totally worth it, I FEEL AMAZING RIGHT NOW. EXTREME MENTAL CLARITY!!!!!!!!!!

The main tip I can give you is this WHEN YOU GO TO THE STORE TO BUY FRUIT BUY A HUGE AMOUNT OF BANANAS. They are very cheap if you live in the USA (didn't check your profile) and having large amount of raw fruit on hand is the only way to eat a raw diet. You can never let yourself run out.

I buy anywhere from 70-120 pounds of bananas per week!!! Once the bananas get spots...that SAME DAY...I immediately put them into my refrigerator. This extends the list of the ripe bananas for several days!

If you are living on campus, you will need to buy a small personal refrigerator and fill it with bananas ($100) or get a second large refrigerator if your roommates agree to have it in the living room! That is the only way I would do it...I am not a big fan of being shy about my fruit, or trying to hide it from other people. YOU  WILL RUN OUT OF FRUIT TOO MUCH IF YOU DO THAT.

    • For me the issue here is the lack of variety. Nanas r good n affordable all year, but its hard to get any other good quality fruit. At the moment we have bananas, oranges r ok, and apples.
    • Currently £6.50 is min wage
    • Uk supermarkets (tesco and asda) sell bananas at £0.68/kg which I think I have converted right to be $0.5/lb so its about the same price I think
      • Yeah that converts to $.63 per pounds...

BUT IS THE MINIMUM WAGE 5.25 BRITISH POUNDS PER HOUR OR LESS THAN THAT?

    • Oh no, i know that!:)
I see i see! What ive noticed is, my body does find it weird when i have a lot of raw days but i just think its not used to the amount of fiber/water ive ate in the meal.

I always do ha! I have a market near my house where i stock up on all fruit, mostly bananas. The stall people think i am obsessed with bananas and just eat them all for myself...they're half right lol.

I freeze my bananas anyway for my smoothies as it thickens it for me :)

I buy enough fruit to last the week at an ok price as its not so cheap all the time, here the market in the UK.

      • Do your best and don't beat yourself up too much!

Bananas here in Texas cost only $.5 per pound, 50 cents per pound. Minimum wage is $8 an hour, so even the poorest people in our country can afford to buy giant 40 lb cases of bananas for $20! I am so thankful!

From what I here in the UK they cost at least double! Do what you've got to do, don't be ashamed!

  • I've made this before so I don't need breakfast recipes. I said dinner recipes.
