Help, I hate my Vitamix!!

I've been on this lifestyle for almost 3 years now. I also consider myself to be a smoothie connoisseur. I recently bought a Vitamix and ever since my smoothies have tasted terrible and metallic!! The only exceptions when I make datorade, that's always perfect.I depend on smoothies for my meals during the day, as I work chaotic retail 7 days a week and they just simplify my life. I blend for as little as possible, I rarely use the high speed (I pulse by using the 10 speed back and forth from 1 - 10 swiftly). I've searched and searched online and there are literally no videos dedicated to proper use of the Vitamix! Of course there are hundreds of HCRV smoothie recipe videos but they edit out the blending process.I want to love this machine, please help!!!

  • yeah maybe get it exchnaged. I dunno what to say. I have one and not a problem at all i couldnt be happier.

  • Call them up and tell them.  They will make it right.  The blade on my container started rubbing after 5 years of daily use, and they sent me a brand new one no charge.

  • Hey, I don't have the money for a Vitamix right now, but seeing as you are a smoothie connoisseur, could you perhaps tell me the brand of blenders you were using before your Vitamix which you liked?

    • I own a Vitamix and when it broke I had no warranty coverage.  Instead of buying another one, I went with an OmniBlend V and I love it more than I ever loved my Vitamix.  It's much cheaper (almost $500 cheaper in Australia) and has all the features of the Vitamix plus the best parts of a Blendtec.

  • I'd send it back for a refund. Mine is perfectly fine and I smash out the high speed option as well as pulsing a variety of ways, especially when I'm blending bulky smotthies with vegetable and whole (small) lettuce heads. I always blend with water and haven't yet tasted the metalicness. I have with other cheap blenders.

    • +1
