Hiatus Hernia!! Can anyone help?

I've had a hiatus hernia for a couple of years now, it's the main reason i came to this lifestyle (now coming up to a year ago) it has been really helping me and i no longer get pains or digestive upset.

However, recently i tried doing lots of strength training and i think i have made it a lot worse i now keep burping a lot, feeling a little sick after eating and sometimes feeling short of breath...

Has anyone with a hiatus hernia found any tricks to make it heal properly? I just want to make it go back into place naturally! i'm quite annoyed with myself for making it worse when i was starting to feel so good O.o

  • Hi, thanks for your replies guys! Luckily i ditched the crunches and stomach exercises and tried the water trick (drink half liter or more of water and then drop onto heels from tiptoes) and now it seems to be back to how it was before i irritated it! All the symptoms have subsided once more! I am however eating 4 smaller meals instead of 3 big ones and finding this more comfortable :)

    • glad to hear it! :)

  • I would just give it more time and stay on the straight and narrow.  Keep checking and rechecking all your lifestyle factors, getting plenty of sleep, water and calories, proper food combining, gentle exercise and sunshine.  Also make sure your fruit is always ripe and only eat tender leafy greens, no hard to digest anything.

A good article here on healing from it on a similar program but not nearly as healing as HCRV, so your results should be even better: https://www.drmcdougall.com/health/education/health-science/stars/s...

  • My mom has one, and is going in for surgery to get it fixed next month. I was hoping to see some replies to this thread.. haha

I've heard surgery is the only way to heal this type of hernia, it seems like it doesn't heal itself, no matter how healthy you become unfortunately.
