WTF is wrong with some people. I was on my way home it had gotten dark, so I had all my lights on.I stopped for a few seconds to have a drink and to get an apple out of my bag, then continued on my merry way, munching on my apple.Someone in a ute pulled out of a driveway a few hundred metres behind me, and drove alongside me on the road, and asked me "What's up, mate?", "Why'd you stop in front of my house?".I explained to him that I was out for some exercise and I had stopped the bike to have a drink and get an apple out of my bag. I held up the apple in my hand for him to see. He then proceeded ahead of me, turned around, came at me down the wrong side of the road with his hi-beams on and forced me off the road. The ground off the side of the road was loose rocks and a heavy slope, so once I got off the road, I had to stop. He stopped right next to me and chatted me up again, saying "You stopped in front of my place and took off again in a hurry" and "Are you a local?"I just said " 'Mate', I don't know who the fk you are, and it's none of your fkn business."And I took off.I stopped at the cop shop on the way home, to make a report, but they can't do anything about it.Now I'm kicking myself for not thinking to look at his number plate. But, seriously, wtf goes through some people's heads ?He sounded plenty paranoid, I reckon he had a fkn drug plantation or something. In any case, I won't be riding that way again.

  • I know what you mean, some people are so fricken rude, no wonder some people are scared to exercise outdoors.

But the cop is dumb for not doing anything.

This actually reminds me of this time I run running down the street from my house and some perv started to say really derogatory things to me in Spanish like "dog" and "sob" because I flicked him off after he said I was "Delicious" what am I am apple? and he even cornered me, but I ran around him and was about to take a pic of his license plate to show the cops but he left "right in time"

  • It was dark and I'd never been down that road before. I drove down there in the car the day after and, in the daylight, I can't even recognize where it was that I stopped. I have it narrowed down to 3 houses, but I couldn't say which one for sure. I'm keeping an eye out for that ute, though.

  • Id brick his front windows.

JK, Id slash his tyres. ;)

LOTS of morons we share the earth with. Carb up and remember there is more nice people than morons out there.

Sounds like there was some drug action in that house. Id ring anonymously from a public phone and say you wish to report a hydro + meth cooking house.

  • Scary!  You handled it really well, glad you are okay!  Probably good you didn't get any more involved with such an imbalanced guy with police reports and such.  My 13 year old son who goes everywhere with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye was out biking and this guy at least twice his age, across the road, coming the other way jogging, flips him off/gives him the middle finger for no apparent reason.  Thankfully my son gave him no energy at all.  When people are miserable they can't help but spread it to everyone around them.  Lots of miserable people in the world.  I wish bicyclists were more accommodated by laws and the roads/pathways.  I always slow down when driving near a bicyclist, give them plenty of room to ride or make their turn and I give them a friendly wave to let them know I see them and they are amongst friends.  Here's to being kind to each other on the road! :)

  • well if u know where he lives thats something right
