I think im starting to lose it!!!.....

hehehe had ya there didn't I.... !?! Sorry subject is not quite as dramatic as the title suggests!.... Over the past few years I have had plenty of women ask me about menstruation and whether I have it or not, whether its natural to get a 'period' every month & so on.... I thought I would start a convo here so we could all share our current experiences with the monthly madness.... When I first went raw I lost mine for 1year, I caved to cooked food for a month & it came back?!....Interesting when waste (cooked food)entered, my period (or waste removal?)started... But then fastforward a year or so and now I get it every couple of months very lightly & 2-3days max....very randomly and it seems to be when my body is under some type of stress or I've had too much fat in the form of avos..... I spoke to Rozi in Sydney one on one a year ago about this and she really isn't sure, no one seems to be clued up on it.....I've heard that animals in the wild don't get their 'monthlies' , only domesticated ones.... I eat a healthier diet than ever now & feel ontop of the moon health-wise and they seem to be leaving me again..... I don't have abnormally low levels of bodyfat or anything like that so this isn't a factor.... Interested to hear others experiences....

      • I have pcos too...

this is too weird bc I was thinking about this topic the other night..

anywho, my period never has a set date, and sometimes don't come for months. I just started eating high raw almost 2 weeks ago and when I did my period started and stayed for a week and a half then went away, I wonder if it will come back...who knows..I'm just glad I feel better than before, dont feel 100% but then again I just started my journey so..

        <<3 my questions were answered!

  • I have heard animals in the wild get their monthlies.

My dog has always been a raw meaty bones dog and she gets it

but who knows, I mean who is going to follow a wild animal around and test it for period?
    • jealoius !! I have been raw 7 years, 3 years all fruit and i still get it 3 days i dont wear anything though just wipe when toilet
  • Ok, so I'm all for getting off of this dreadful pill as I hate the side effects & am sure that my PCOS will clear up with the raw diet. However, I don't get how the birth control method is figured out. If you don't bleed monthly or only every few months, how do you know when to avoid your husband so you don't get pregnant? I always hate saying that because it makes me sound like I don't want children which is absolutely not the case. We can't wait to be parents, just not right away. I wish I could be 100% natural & accept everything as it comes, but with all that's going on in the economy (blah. blah, blah) & our finances, it's just not a good idea for the baby to come into that right now. My husband in in socail work & his job is always on the line to be cut with the state taking away money each year from children's social welfare. I dunno, I'm just not ready to get pregnant yet but love to love on my hubs so what do I do?!?! Sorry if that was TMI. :)
    • I would like to get off my birth control as well. I only recently decided this because I'm absolutely sick of taking it, and I don't really think it's a great idea to take it anymore. In my case though, I don't want to get pregnant because I definitely don't want kids, not now, and probably not ever. I'm not in a relationship and I don't have sex very often, but when I do, I definitely don't get pregnant and don't trust condoms alone. I always felt OK with the pill/condom combo, so I'm going to have to figure something out as well.
    • If you take your temperature, it should drop on the day your period would start if you were to have one.
  • Freelea, you know how to capture the negative attention hee hee! Statistically speaking, it works so well... :)))

I am a bad study case, as I am 45, and at my age my mum was already after the menopause. I seem still to ovulate, but my periods are a mystery. Irregular, and not very much at all. So it is hard to tell what are the factors, my age or my diet. Dietwise, I am not into nuts or seeds, I don't have much avoes either (last time I had one was perhaps two weeks ago). I am slim but in my opinion still have some excess fat on me (I sit a lot in my work). I am not into greens, like Audrey, and love fruit mainly, but I think I am getting persuaded to try some green juices (for the skin and hair)...
  • Hi all,

I just started a post about this, I totally missed this one.

I haven't bled in about three to four years and I know I still ovulate regularly. I definitely feel it.

I'm at a normal weight by conventional standards. 5ft 7.5 inches and 125lbs.

The only time it came back was when I went through a phase of eating too many avocados. When I dropped the excess fat it went away again.

    Gotta love low fat raw!!!

    Audrey
    • LOL! I thought they were long gone! At least in that PETA pic I saw. :-) You are too cute!!!
    • Thats great to know Audrey, I would love to give mine the flick for good! - how much overt fat do you include in your diet these days? How often would you have avocados?
