Issues in the Raw Lifestyle

Hi everyone, ever since falling off the wagon hard of following a high fat raw vegan lifestyle, i find it incredibly hard to find supper meal ideas that are raw and low fat.

Since eating a high fat diet, my body cannot tolerate fats at all! This leaves me lost as to what to eat for supper. I am not the most creative in the kitchen, and the most I can think of is salad, but the issue is making a good dressing with absolutely no fat. I guess you can say that I am at a stand still or a cross roads. It's only at supper time that I come to this dilemma, as I only eat fruit all day.

I was wondering if anyone has had the same issue and was able to overcome it, or if anyone have any meal ideas that I can enjoy for dinner time containing absolutely no fat?

Your comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

  • Yep, picnic style and/or chimp burgers as Julia put it! :D  A truly fun and tasty way to get a head or two of greens in.  Sunshine does a demo for us here:

  • Hi Katelynn,

I have been having the same dilemma as you. I have no problem eating tons of fruit all day long, but at night I am not sure what to make for a raw dinner. I am not such a fan of spiralized zucchini and I dont eat salad that often anymore because of the dressing issue. I used to use very fatty salad dressings along with avocado and I guess I need to retrain my taste buds for the fruiter blended versions. Ruby's advice with the celery for saltiness is a good one and I find it helps me. I have blended celery, tomato and pineapple which was pretty good.

  • "Chimp burgers" are awesome if you crave greens at night. Put bananas or/and dates in lettuce leaves and eat! Or any fruit in lettuce leaves for that matter!

  • I have a salad every night and i love it. I like to spiralize a whole cucumber and chop up celery with a whole head of really good lettuce. It's also nice to have a side of cut up fruit or orange juice with it.

some no fat salad dressings I have been making recently and really enjoying are:

cherry tomatoes + orange + lemon   cut the peel off the orange (instead of juicing it, this gives the dressing more thickness) and throw it all in the blender

    pineapple + orange + lemon + celery

Just start blending different combinations of fruit and lemon + celery (for more saltiness)
