  • Thanks for the link, always looking for new info! I am type 1 and am living proof that fat messes with my blood sugars. Since being on LFHCRV diet, I have reduced the amount of insulin I take by HALF and my numbers don't go high nearly as much!!! Yet doctors and family still push me to have MORE fat and protein!! Unreal!!!
  • Here is the corrected link: http://care.diabetesjournals.org/content/36/4/810

  • Wow great, thanks for sharing! I am new to this and trying to explain, apart from moral reasons, why I don't want to eat meat and high fat foods because of what they do to my body has been tough, I always seem to get 'but you're body needs fat and protein' .. like my mother is constantly telling me I need more protein! I'm doing as much reading as I can to improve my line of defence when under attack! haha :)

    • Your mom is right, we need fat and we need protein.  Just not nearly as much as we are led to believe.  It is insane how much we are told to eat.

And yet no one says eat more carbs, yet we see carb-deficient related habits ergo massive consumption of caffeine.

  • This is great to have in our arsenal for people who demand "SCIENTIFIC PROOF".

  • Your link doesn't work for me. (works without the '.long' !)

Also, Don Bennett explained it nicely https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gg_6WCa1-tM
