Thailand hot springs

Looking for a primitive hot spring ormregion with a lot of hot springs,to go to and kick back for 2 months working on relaxing a shoulder problem.Usually I do not care about infrastructure or wifi, but this time would like wifi and room with private bath. Not looking for social or party or things to do, will be trying to create some websites for alternate income.I will have camping air mattress and blowup pillows if the mattress is "too Asian".I found a list of hot springs, but not much mention on whether the water is "warm", "therapeutic temp" (104°F or 40°C)....or too hot to get into. Looking for a nice, isolated hot spring or an area that has a lot of them....and would like to hear from peeps who have "been there"I am planning 2 month stay, no consideration will be given as to grocery or restaurants, will not need. When I finish my Protocol, will be looking for some kind of fresh fruit orgy situation...but will have had time to ask around by then while at the hot springs...Not overly concerned about "where" in Thailand, just not in a city or in a resort.

  • I ve been to 2 Hot Springs in Thailand and both been pretty bad. Nothing like western style. One near Chiang Mai, you pay the entrance fee and all you get is to put your feet in the canal. For extra things you have to pay more. We got to another pool there and there were actual leeches swimming in there.

Another one was in Khao Sok, and the water was way too hot, you could only stay there for more than 5 minutes at a time.

But maybe there are other Hot springs, that would be worth checking out.

    • Your experiences seem to be the common ones...which is why I plan to visit several to find one to settle at....or I will default to a hut on a white sand beach.
Leeches? Yuck...they do not bother me much to see them...but not gonna get in with them...
I am in Hong Kong for this week, leave for Thailand in a few days.
(Started my fast)--do we avoid that topic still on this site? I follow Joel Fuhrman who has coached over 10,000 peeps beyond 40 days...and I have done 2 beyond 40 days over the years.
I have a lot of questions about the Raw till 4, not about the eating cooked food....but why the degradation of ideals on this site. I loved this site, felt like I was deficient and tried harder when I was 90% raw, felt I should be 95%...not here so much anymore.
I feel like I am watching (again) a phnomenon like the poultry industry announcing in 1971 that they will convince Americans that egg (and chicken) are plant, suitable for vegetarians...and they succedded in only 25 years.
In 1975 or so, "Vegetarian Times" magazine was facing a huge boycott because they were printing recipies with egg.
  • Cool, I didn't know Thailand has hot springs!

    • At least a thousand, maybe a lot more. Then Vietnam is full of them, as well a Myanmar.

But theyndo not sqy if onlynfor soaking frrt, or if only warm, not hot...OR if too hot to consider getting in.

The National use for them is as a gettaway to buy eggs from an egg seller at edge of springs, and most reviews say how long it will take an eggmto be hard boiled.

Even that is not usefull info, as the "source" mat be used for cooking rather than the (cooled, non diluted) pool water.

I am thinking about north-west border area of Thailand near Myanmar.

For fun, I am pricing and doing logistics to continue West from Bangkok to LAX as to have circumnavigated the world on a single trip.
      • Let us know where you go, sounds perfect for a retreat!

      • Anyone wanna meet me there?
