Living in tropics means you also get lots of mosquitos during night interrupting your sleep, especially during the rain season.
There are sprays that work, but they contain lots of chemicals such as deet, and are quite expensive. Does anyone know some natural proven way to repel against mosquitos? We tried garlic and vinegar with cilantro, didn´t work.

thanks for the reply. Even if we close the door at 5 PM, they still get in during night, cause we leave the window open for fresh air. We tried putting garlic on the window didnt work, so I asume that onion grass will be the same. I might look into the electric lamp. Fan doesnt help much.
Our friends use this stuff and swear by it. We live in a temperate rain forest with bad mosquitoes in the summer. We bought some but have not used it yet. The testimonials on the site sound very good.
city of Huntsville, Ontario used liquid garlic to prepare for the G8 summit.
It is a specific formula using just the right concentrate of garlic.

Bump
What bump do you mean?
Some people have reported good luck with thiamine (vitamin B1).
Every time we sleep in a bungalow, the mosquito net is so uncomfortable, it keeps opening at night as you move around or go to toilet and mosquitos get in anyway. The best is to put a mosquito net on the windows, but we haven´t seen anyone installing it here.
Lemon grass. You can buy citronella (an oil that comes from lemon grass) sprays in shops around Thailand. Its about 90 baht a bottle.
yes I know the citronella oil, it helps for a while, but you will literally spend the whole bottle in few nights, as it gets absorbed in your skin very quickly. How do you apply the lemon grass,
