  • Don't give a !@#$. I won't be celebrating, I'll be on my bike and eating up those sugars.

  • what is great about being a raw vegan is you can bring a bunch of fruit over and add it to the feast, guarantee you that it will almost be all yours to devour :D, remember to not forget your values or what you believe in, but enjoy the holiday w/ family and friends anyway lol! I think I will probably get a lot of questions about my lifestyle, I will be sure to bring my 80/10/10 book with me so I do not have to answer to many questions LOL, but I cannot wait for the holidays they are so much fun, don't worry and enjoy :D

I have to watch myself sometimes because I can feel defensive about my values, but the facts are there and it is obvious HCRV is supppperrr good for us, so I just realize that maybe they would love advice, I have to make sure I do not get upset with my family lol, hope yalls holidays are goood.

  • excellent news nenadavila - go for it

  • You sound bad ass. How did you get your mother convinced?! Im hella jealous. Your xmas is going to be AWESOME this year!! =33

  • I am a little stressed out over Xmas dinner because I guess it's my turn to host. No one in my family is a LFRV/HCRV. They are all SAD eaters. The only one who is like minded like me is my hubby. So I am totally stumped on what to make so the entire family feels like they had a nice Xmas dinner. I know that they have expectations of eating Christmassy things like ham, but obviously I don't eat/buy meat for ethical reason. Ahhhhhhhh!!!!! Help!!!!!!
  • Great article from Robby Barbaro on the social aspects of eating 811rv:

  • More like unstressed. I'm a student so I do appreciate my precious time off. My relatives are also going on vacation this holiday so I only have to housesit. Which is nice because my dog loves playing with their two dogs. Christmas was a lot worse last year. I was at Las Vegas and I brought lots of bananas and dates, but I didn't get any greens. I couldn't go to Wholefoods because it was closed so I ended up craving for vegetables. lol Also some "family friends" wanted to go to some 80 dollar buffet so my dad and I ended up wondering the streets until almost midnight, when they were finally able to get a seat and finish their dinner. It was okay, but seriously not my kind of fun, especially since there's smokers everywhere, on the streets, in the casinos. :P

I tried bringing a salad last year on Thanksgiving.  I even got raw tahini just so I can make a sesame-like dressing. But in the end everyone ended up eating the bacon-and-egg salad which is actually good news for me because I didn't have to share.

I'm actually looking forward to future holidays. I feel like I have yet to get the idea of raw veganism out there amongst my relatives. Maybe I'll seriously try making something next year, or study up to prepare for their questions. Anything is fine just as long as I don't have to be dragged off to somewhere I don't like.

  • I am definately excited to see how it will be. It is the first christmas and family meeting since we are 811. All of them are on a standard diet and we will be with them for 2 years. The meeting will be in Germany (we are in the UK), so i am also not quiet sure yet where to get the huge amount of fruits my fiancé and i need. The fridge and freezer will pretty much be full with our family's food as well and shops will be a nightmare before christmas and closed on 23th, 24th, 25th, 26th. They will open a few hours on the 24th though. We will definately travel with vitamix and food processor.

I used to be a chocoholic and it will be my first "exposure" to chocolate. Am curious how it will go. It was surprisingly easy for me to not eat any bad food since we went 100% raw vegan from day to the other and the upcoming holidays feel a bit like a test.

  • its going to be very hard. I am trying to change my lifestyle but its not an easy change. I am doing it for health reasons and its not any easy change to make. The holidays will be very hard for me.

    • I appreciate your honesty!  : )

But you could have the best holidays EVER.

While everyone else is eating awful-tasting poisonous junk, YOU get to eat the best tasting food on the planet, and all you want of it.

While everyone else is getting bloated and puffy and gaining weight, YOU will be getting leaner and lighter.

While everyone else is suffering and complaining about their headaches, digestive upsets, fatigue, colds and flu, YOU will be happier and healthier than ever.

Come here and let us support and encourage you!!!  You can do this!  Hey, there is nothing FUN about being miserable.  Start having a fun and pleasurable life NOW.  Fruit is the answer.  : )
