Tiredness when starting this lifestyle...

Hi everyone :)

Just wanted to see what peoples take on being tired was?

I only started eating this way at the end of May so as you can imagine I'm still learning and figuring stuff out about my body. I've seen loads of benefits already; clearer skin, less rosacea, whiter eyes, my belly bloating has gone down after the first few weeks. One thing that I can't seem to shake though is tiredness.

I am eating about 2500cals a day, between 80-90% from carbs, eating mostly dates and bananas for breakfast, another type of fruit for lunch and then a big salad for my evening meal. I am usually fine throughout the day but in the evening I am getting so fatigued I haven't been able to anything afterwards. I really want to start to do more exercise in the evening but I am finding that I am eating and then going bed within an hour because I feel like I have no energy.

In the first few weeks I thought this just might have been my body getting used to a different way of eating (after coming from a high paleo diet) but it seems to be continuing.

Do you think it's something I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for your help guys! Really appreciate it :)

  • Hey Phil, thanks. I might try to add in an extra fruit meal somewhere along the lines :)

  • Thanks guys, I wake up at 5am and get home from work at 7pm, so it is a long day. I will definitely look into some B12 supplements. :)

    • And what time do you go to sleep?
    • Hey Larissa, I go to bed at about 10ish although recently I have been going to sleep at 8 or 9pm as I am so tired.

    • If you're getting up at 5am then no wonder! I think it's natural for you to want to sleep at 9pm. That's 8hours sleep. You definitely don't want to be getting less. Some people need up to 12 hours. And 10-12 hours is the recommendation in 30 bad isn't it? Maybe in time your body will have adjusted and you won't be so tired by 8/9 but until then I wouldn't stress about it and just go with what your body wants.
    • yeah I guess it is a long day whilst my body is getting used to having a different way of living!

  • What time do you wake up and for how many hours do you sleep?
