I really want to lose weight fast if possible.

I have graduation coming up (May 3rd) I am hoping to lose 20lbs by then...

Is it possible?

I want to hear testimonials from others especially losing weight in short period of time.

  • I think you could easily lose at least half of that by cutting out sodium and most fats (keep fats n veggies to your dinner).

    • Be mindful that if you start on an exercise regime, at first you will be likely to lose inches and gain muscle. Therefore your body weight might stay the same or even increase for a while before you start losing body fat.

  • That's the best attitude that you can have, JuJu! :) hold on to it and you'll see tremendous results!
For me, weight loss was speeded by the low-fat part :) the less fat I was eating, the more weight I was losing. And vice-versa. So, trust the carbs and eat as much as you care for! And don't forget about exercising. For me, running and pilates worked the best.
    • I really appreciate the advice :)

      Thank you :)

  • I understand that it is a life style...

I just wanted to know if it was possible.

I goal is set but doesn't mean I would get upset if I dont meet the goal.

I just want to get ideas on what people had to say.

Thank you for the good advice :)

  • Hi JuJu,

I think it might be possible to lose that weight in such a short time, but only if you add daily cardio exercise. I lost 20 lbs in 5 weeks some time ago, but I cut off completely fats and salt and exercised daily. It was 100% carbs :) Still, each body is different, and, as everyone here told you, you can't know for sure how your body will react. It also depends on how much extraweight you have. The more extraweight you have, the faster you shall lose it.

Peter is right, the most important thing is NOT TO STARVE yourself! In that case, even if you lose thta weight until graduation, you won't be able to maintain it afterwards.
    • Thank you I just wanted to know what people were losing on the 801010.

Health is very important to me and so as losing weight because I am not in normal weight I thought losing weight would improve my health.

Thank you so much! I am more motivated then ever :))))

    • Hows the progress going? Still 811?

  • Ok 9kg, if you were overweight and unfit you could lose 1.5 − 2kilo per week Which would make it possible to lose 8kilo in that amount of time.  In a reasonable way, eating plenty and making time for exercise about 60mins - 1.30hr 6days of the week.   This is if you were quite heavy and unfit.

You're not at that point to lose that much that fast, you're 77kg, depending on your fitness level you may be able to lose 3kg (6-7lbs) in that time, bringing you down to 74kg (163lbs)

These are just going by averages and there are other factors that affect weight-loss.

    • Thank you that helped! I would like to lose at least a little.

I am planning on doing 1 hour of walk everyday and yoga 3-4 times a week on top of the walking...

Hope this will help lose 5kg by may :)
