This group is for people living or passing through northern Thailand (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and around...).  Let's meet up and eat fruit or exchange information on the best places to shop for fruit, or simply support eachother on our raw journeys.

  • Hey  guys! am planning to go to thailand  in 20th january 2013. who  is there and what do you reccommend?

  • HIYA! I'll be in Bangkok from Sep 18th or 19th and will be there or about a week. If anyone will be free to talk or to run around with me, let me know. I'm on the hunt for some Zen Buddhism or other really cool places, like ... and this one is a long shot too, but Taoist teachers, Sufis (I'm pretty sure Thailand's got some) (ภาษาไทยว่า ซูฟีย์ ผมค่อนข้างจะชัวร์ว่ามีนะ), or even Christians doing a contemplative practice using meditation. I've got a couple of leads on Zen but will be winging it with anything else. I've got a couple of other things I'll need to do in Bangkok too. I'll head to a Buddhist temple either in Krabi or Kanchanaburi after I leave Bangkok.

I hope to meet you there!

    love, Jeannette

  • Thanks heaps for your reply. Sounds really interesting! looking into it today. =)

Mostly vegan food, lots of organic, lots of food grown at the temples and communities. I'm farming with the group in the northeast. One down side is that I buy most of my own fruit. So, this idea might not do it for you, but I figured I'd toss it in the pot, er ... blender!

  • Hello every one!! I am asking for any information or tips or advice. I am an Australian and wanting to move to Thailand for 6 months or so. Can anyone suggest any work or income for me while im there please ? Any info would be helpful. Thanks guys. Cant wait to get back to Thailand xo

Blenders

Blenders .... I'm looking at various ones I can get here in Thailand, and there seems to be some very decent choices. Right now, Lotus in Hat Yai has an OTTO BE-127 for 2100 baht! (And Lazada online website has it for 2000.) The specs compare favorably with the two big names, for FAR less money. I realize, being made in Thailand (NOT China!) helps keep costs down. The only thing that suggests to me that this is not nearly as good as a Vitamix or a Blendtec is the one year warranty as opposed to…
