Whenever I talk about how I eat to other S.A.D people, they somehow combine my diet with being some kind of religion.

I can understand that raw food is a very weird new idea to others who has never heard of it before, but I find it to be a punch under the belt when people intentionally try and make me look like a religious fanatic, when in fact I am many times the only atheist in the room at the time even lol.

It might be that they think I sound like a fanatic and they automatically connect it with "religious fanatic" as that is a term they are used to hearing.

Have you guys experienced this too? Even if you are religious, your diet and food has nothing to do with it, right?

Spiritually in the "it makes my mind more clear" I can understand, but not religiously..

Just thinking out loud here. :)

  • HI all. I am glad this group exists and I'd love to be in on discussions. I am a new Christian and I do believe this lifestyle has no correlation to religion. I was raw before I started following Christ, and I am still raw now (mostly RT4 now to be more clear).

What I care about with my new lifestyle of RT4, is that I feel amazing about it - my health and the CRUELTY FREE aspect of it. I have two kids who aren't strictly raw/RT4 but most of the time they are because that is how I buy and prepare food so that is what is available to them. And they are thriving! And they don't feel deprived because they don't get soda and Mc$h!t (I['m sorry, can I say that on here? :-)

Anyway, I look forward to what people will talk about here. I'm very open minded and understanding. I like a healthy debate and DO NOT get into "right and wrong" arguments when it comes to religion. You believe what you believe and I respect you the same as the one standing next to you.

  • Very intresting docu. Take the time to watch it.

  • Thought this group could use more members :3

  • Im with you in both regards.
  • People just use that term because they see the LFRV diet as being extreme. They think, "Oh my god! That person is so rigorously devoted to this insane fruit-diet that they must be incredibly religious about it to uphold such a strange and restrictive lifestyle." To them, nothing could allow a person to eat such a way but religious devotion. (I'm an athiest/agnostic, by the way.)

Skepticism and LFRV; caught between two subcultures?

So happy to find this group! By way of introduction, I'm non-religious, a skeptic, and a materialist. I've been vegan for most of my life and more recently I've been heading in an LFRV direction.I have some observations about LFRV and skepticism and where they work and don't work together... still navigating this issue, feedback is appreciated. From what I've seen, the raw vegan community could use a greater skeptical presence. There is so much misinformation allowed to circulate, and way too…
