Seasonal fruit hunting with people who appreciate such things is why I've created this group.

Major Fruit Hunt!

Ok, rumour has it that some farms on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica  have DURIAN in season right NOW, mid February 2012!!!  This seems unbelievable to me.  Every place I know of here in Costa Rica that has durian trees produces them only around June/July time.  Sadly, I'm never in Costa Rica during that time since I go back to Canada to work at my seasonal job.  Finding them here now before I leave would be a dream come true because they cost a fortune back in Canada, in the Asian markets-$50…

My Christmas gifts

So, as I was coming home from a Christmas walk on the beach, I spotted a neighbour's abiut tree full of fruit.  I stopped and asked to pick some.  They were kind enough to give 6 of the beauties.  What a lovely Christmas gift. I've eaten four already (as well as my 8 course Christmas lunch), so only these two small ones are left to show you.

Costa Rica fruitpot!

These are a couple of beauties I recently had the luck to come across here in Costa Rica.  Mind you, they weren't picked by me from the tree (sadly), but I did buy them from local producers.  They are both amazing finds.  My love is holding a 12kg jackfruit!!!  I'm holding an 8kg guanabana or soursop!!!  Sooo good.
