    Our community would be delighted to know you better. Please tell us more about yourself and what brought you to the Frugivore Diet. Detailed responses will only be accepted (feel free to reapply with more detail if at first not approved as a member).

    I have been into health and fitness for about five years. I was fat as a child due to my parents SAD diet. I lost weight by restricting my calories down to about 1500 a day for a year or so. Eventually I got down to a BMI of about 18 and then just had to stop because I was overwhelmed by hunger. Calorie restriction was one of the worst experiences I ever had and I know that there is no possibility of this being healthy. Anyway, I found it difficult to maintain my low weight (surprise surprise) and eventually spent two more years relatively lean but struggling with calorie restriction on a paleo style diet. Eventually I found durianrider's channel, and after a month or so of watching videos and reading McDougall, Esselstyn and the China Study, I decided to plunge headfirst into raw till 4. I have experienced some tremendous benefits on this lifestyle: my head seems clearer, my cardio is infinitely better and I feel a general sense of happiness that was missing before. However, I have also experienced about 50 pounds of unwanted weight gain over 7/8 months, pushing my BMI up past 30 (partially because I lift weights). I'm finally trying to sign up because I really need support to continue my vegan journey.
