  • Hiya :) Nice to meet another Canadian!
  • yes, I hear you on prices for salad, once got a side salad because i wasnt hungry(this was at a normal restaurant). it was 2 tomato slices, 2 cucumber slices and like 15 pieces of romaine lettuce.. enough to fit in the palm of your hand lol. 8 dollars for that..please.

ive been raw for 3 months, on the vegan path for about a year
  • ya heh, I wouldnt wanna go to some cafe for flax crackers hehe:P it is hard to find a place that will cater to raw vegans on a more fruitarian diet. The only vegan restaurant in london has two raw dishes, one appetizer and one meal. it is collard rolls which taste good..but you only get a tiny 4 rolls for $7 and then ravioli made from beets, for $13..you get 6 raviolis and a few garnishes... you need to eat before you go there and then eat when you get home:P it tastes alright.. i dunno about some of the ingredients.. i know there is olive oil but im pretty sure i stay clear of all or most of th agave and braggs heh. i think toronto has a much larger raw community, still they are the high fat raw:P how long have you been raw vegan?
  • oh ya, any good vegan (raw even) restaurants..or vegan community etc? in windsor
  • yes the riverfront was nice..the rest was a dump. lots of trucks. just doesnt seem like a nice place to live. (no offense hehe) very industrial in the trucking sense..very busy.
  • I was in windsor for some diving work on the detroit river. was just there for the day. didnt see too much windsor:P was just along the river
  • Well I haven't been through a winter on this diet yet and I'm scared to death. I've been eating low fat high raw for about 2 years now but LFRV for about a month and a half now. I don't eat any overt fats once so ever and I'm not that into bananas. I'll crave them once every week or two but I get sick of them after a large meal of them. Do you have any tips on getting through the winter? I binge on dates occasionally so I try to avoid buying them.
  • Thanks! From Canada I see, how's the fruit there? How long have you been 811?
  • it all depends...depends if my mom pays for some or if i pay for it all myself. also depends if i'm feeling like spoiling myself with mangoes @ 1.50 ea lol

i really don't know how much i spend in a week, i'd say close to 150 bucks. but i'm an athlete and i burn A LOT of calories and need to buy more cheap overripe fruits. i think i'm goona get in contact with the farmer market up the road and tell them to save all the overripe fruit for me!
  • yep! fair price, a ton of variety, lots of farmers markets in the spring/summer. only bad thing is the fall and winter are chilly and wet!
downtown has a lot of raw/organic restaurants as well
