  • SO, I think this is how I comment on your comment...still figuring this site out. Ha. About 5 years ago I started out with a Montel Williams Healthmaster blender. I did smoothies. But, I wasn't getting any real education and I just didn't get it. Then about 3 years ago I got pregnant and I was 39! I had my daughter and I just never regained my figure, my energy, etc. I finally began to look into health and really not until a year ago did I really take action. I had my MOMMY MAKEOVER (tummy tuck and breast augmentation) in May 2013. I looked at myself and I said, I look ok on the outside but my insides were in shambles. IBS, fatigue, tiredness, depression (meds helped but I hated being on them) and just overall binging type eating habits. Fast food, sugar, just CRAP! So I quit milk and started looking at videos on YouTube. Kristina, 40BelowFruity (one of my favs) and my ultimate fav - Freelee and Durian. I observed and began incorporating more veggies at first...not believing that fruit would NOT make me fat. Then in February I read 80/10/10, and I just broke down. I cried, literally on a train on my way to NYC to have a visit with my family. Right then I never had another piece of meat again. I don't touch any animal product if I can at all help it...by that I mean I think I've eaten some kind of food made with eggs at some point but if I am conscious of it, 99.99% of my diet is HCLF Vegan. My family thought I was cray-cray and when I told them I joined some groups on FB that do this lifestyle, they asked if it was a support group...like we have some disease. In time though since February I have converted my niece (willingly of course) and my one sister that shamed me in the beginning has all but cut out meat from her diet, milk too... HA!

BUT, why I'm struggling a little (in life in general) is, and it sounds a little sad, I don't really have any friends that share my passion for this, and I don't have any family here in the area. I'm really looking for some friends or people who share this passion and can stand to have another friend or at least an acquaintance that loves being HCLF Vegan!

I work the 9-5 as a government contractor, I am divorced, two awesome kids, I love to run, buying a bike soon...need some help picking one out, and love to be outdoors.

I'm on FB, too, and love sharing my meals (I see a lot of people sharing alcoholic drinks and comfort foods, so I figure I should balance that all out!)... I'm a member of RawTill4 on there, too. But, I haven't posted a food diary. I have my reasons. But I love that group.

Anyway, LONG story, sorry. But, I just wanted to let you know where I am coming from. :-)

Live life better, live life Vegan!
