  • I ended up eating anyway it since I was hungry and it wasn;t too bad. I get a lot of bananas that get mushy on the bottom from being the bottom 1/2 of the bunch and just sitting there. I usually wrap the stems with plastic and a rubber band and they don't get as brown or mushy but sometimes this happens...  :/

  • At first I thought that the mushy brown part where what was ripe but its not!, It taste gross for a reason, it is dead fruit, I eat around it for sure, its like when a apple is bruised and it looks brown and rancid, same happen for any fruit, My guess is you are having bad quality fruit here, look for banana without bruises.

It's okay for the banana to get very brown with many brown spot, dont worry about the peel it should still look white and taste sweet when you unpeel it but if it has bruises and brown lines on the peel, chances are when you unpeel it the brown part on the peel will be brown on the banana too and thats inedible.

  • try munching just before it gets to that stage.  you can also refrigerate to slow the ripening process way down.

That bruise looks more like it's caused by pressure or impact.  Try spacing out your nans with some breathing room in between.

And finally, while it might not be that appetizing to chew, there nothing wrong with eating something that color.  You can always blend that section at least.
