  • Don't stretch your stomach for a while, and do some sit-ups. The diaphragm can get stronger and will cease leaking acid.

It should go away on this diet.

  • I found that when I first started this diet, I got A LOT of heartburn.  I am about two months into it and now I rarely experience it at all.  Monomeals have been so helpful in that I get to find out exactly which fruits digested the best for my body.  Food-combining is really important to me because I feel the effects when I mis-combine.  For me, I know if I combined apples with bananas and dates I would get heartburn.

  • For me it's def when I haven't drunk enough water.

  • Do you eat them before, after of for breakfast? I usually have bananas and dates of bananas, apples and dates or in stead of apples mango's. You get the idea. Banana's with something. If we really don't have any fruit I'll do something with oats, but I haven't had that in a long while, sometimes I blend the bananas up , but if I do, I won't blend everything, but top my smoothie bowl with two banana slices for example. Hope this might be useful!
  • Here are a lot of past topics on heartburn from this website that you can read through. Hopefully you can find something to help you out.

  • Do you drink water prior to eating your breakfast?

What do you eat for breakfast?

Is the fruit you eat fully ripe?

Do you follow the recommended food combining guidelines?

    • I drink about 0.5 to 0.8 L of water before breakfast and a little after to wash it all down. I most of the time have bananas with something else, apples or dates for example. Like today: 4 spotty bananas, 2 big apples and 10 small dates. I do know the food combining guidlines and I try to stick to them, but I don't always have fruit for lunch as well, since we don't have that much here. But with breakfast I do follow those guidlines!
      • Looks like you're on the right track.  I would consider trying to not drink water after the banana breakfast (only before), and also, if you're eating any cooked food the night prior, maybe try to finish eating a bit earlier in the day.  It also helps if you blend bananas with greens instead of other ingredients. Celery and various lettuces help in my experience.

  • Lemon juice.  I have a hiatus hernia, so I get reflux quite badly.  Drink the lemon juice before eating to increase the acid in your stomach, and stimulate the diaphragm muscle to contract more strongly.  If that's not enough, drink more lemon juice after eating the fruit.

    • Lemon juice just like that or in water? And does it matter whether I put it in hot water or just in cold water?
