Really Bad Heartburn/Acid reflux

I am having trouble with heart-burn. It seems no matter what I eat I get heart-burn, wether it is raw or cooked. It is worse when I eat cooked food. I am trying to go lfvraw but am having so much trouble cuz even mono meals are giving me it. The only thing that it isn't that bad after is banana. Watermelon is the worst, and it would seem that oranges aren't too good atm as well. I never had a problem with this until this last month. I am also getting nauseous after some meals and through some nights.

Does any one know what could be up? PLEASE HELP!!

  • I have barely gotten heartburn yesterday or today. Today is my 3rd day raw, been trying really hard to stay on the wagon.

    • thats great news.

      • YES. thanks

  • Thanks everyone, your tips have been helpful. And, no, I am NOT drinking coffee or booze. I haven't had coffee since March and alcohol since January. Cucumbers give me hiccups!!! And Harley, all the oranges I've been eating are really orange, sweet and juicy. Thanks guys.

  • I had acid reflux for 6 years go banana island.

  • what time do you finish your last meal   ?    try to finish by 5pm so stomach is clear for new day

agree 1000% with edshell    get the 3+ quarts of water in before eating

    cucumbers for immediate relief

i presume you are not drinking coffee

  • Starchy cooked food will do that to me. Cutting out starches and going all raw fixes the problem within a few days for me. Also, eating lots of leafy greens is imperative. Dark leafy greens like lacinato kale do wonders to get rid of heartburn.
  • VERY hard to get ripe oranges from a store. We only eat a few lb of oranges a year for this very reason. We LOVE oranges though but they are so hard to get FULLY ripe in Australia/USA.

    • How to tell if an orange is actually ripe?! I always thought if they are fragrant and are relatively soft to the touch, bingo

      • you can only tell by taste, they must be super duper sweet with no hint of sourness whatsoever.
