Sugar Free Diet, Tofu Pudding

Hello everyone !I have a big sweet tooth and today I tried making Tofu Chocolate Mousse/Pudding.I used raw cacao powder and the pudding was just not great. I think the agave didn't work well with cacao powder either.Question: Should I use cocoa powder ? AND Is there a sugar that's healthy that I can use other than agave (agave made the tofu too liquidy, milled chia seeds didn't help either :( ) ? All Tips welcomedThank you :)

  • I like Florida Crystal Dememara sugar. Great with coffee and is vegan. I'm sure you can use it for baking. Perhaps you can use the date sugar. Good luck!

  • caroube ! organic maybe more ethical like cacao

  • In any recipe that calls for cocoa or cacao, I generally substitute pulverized dates and coconut sugar mixed together (if it's too stiff you can add a bit of water). Actually this is an amazing combination just on its own, I mix them together and then mold/mush them into either balls (and then cover in a little bit of desiccated coconut to make yummy bliss balls) or into tubes or bars and take them as a lunch treat to work.

  • i eat pudding every day.. but basically it's just dateorade with not enough water making it turn into pudding, tastes great though...

    • With some berries! Mmmmm!!!!

  • I would just makes some banana icecream, sounds way tastier than liquefied processed tofu.

    • Agreed x.x personally tofu is bleh to me.

  • Cacao is technically considered a stimulant, as it gives the body instant energy. Cacao is not supported or encouraged by the rt4 diet, but if you eat it every once in a while (every couple of months) I'm sure you'll be okay.

As for the sugar, you should really try to find coconut sugar. It is very sweet and can be substituted for recipes that call for sugar. Agave is somewhat hard to digest and doesn't go well in most recipes because of its runny nature. Try the coconut sugar! :)

    • I use raw turbinado sugar that is fair trade. Never tried coconut sugar..not sure if they sell it at Walmart, but definitely will search for it since all of my sugar is gone (my brother uses it for everything)

  • cracao is not supported on 30BaD, see here: http://www.30bananasaday.com/notes/Ingredients_and_photos_not_suppo...

I would just use white or brown organic sugar or maple syrup.  Why were you wanting a sugar free pudding?
