  • Hi - those who do bikram!  Do you do an additional exercise for cardio - or do you find you get it from doing bikram?  The times I've done bikram, I know the heart rate goes up; but, the breath is through the nose (more controlled, not heavy breathing).  And, I've always wondered about the cardio question.

  • Hi Raw Yogis... I need help.  I used to do Bikram A LOT.  I hadn't done much in the past year....and I have just gone HCRV for a little over a month now at 100%.  I have had blood sugar issues in the past, but my blood sugar is pretty stable now...and I REALLY want to go back and do Bikram now.   I don't go hours without eating now, so how can I do this without crashing in the middle of the class?  Not saying that will happen, but I think it wise to prepare with my history of blood sugar (low) issues.  How soon before I go could I eat without getting ILL?  Could I bring (should I?) juice into the session with me to sip on instead of water?  Would that make me ILL?  What do you recommend or what do you do right after your session?  What do you eat? Drink?  I LOVE LOVE LOVE Bikram and Being RAW.

Thanks in advance for any help!  Namaste :)

  • dont really do yoga but no its some good stuff i like to try and stretch at least every days :) gota stay loose is a gous nota moose bahaha idn :)

  • New article on Frugis about Ghee and Yoga. Check it out: What's the Deal with Ghee?

  • Love getting the kinks out.
  • Cool Alicia, I think I'm justo bong at a good clip now, believe me I have those times when it swings back around and it's hard to get through class. The more I relax though the easier it gets.
  • I love how it works all the kinks out. I have not been able to go for,the past few weeks and I definately feel the difference everywhere in the body, am going back monday for sure!!!
  • I love Bikram, I'm going like everyday now and it feels effortless at times but so healing!

  • Thanks for the share, we travel and hour once a week for class and it is soooo worth it!!!! It puts us right after a long weekend of working on others doing massage. Do not know anything about costs rica or Thailand, have a great trip where ever you choose to go! Blessings
  • Finally able to start bikram again! Driving an hour and a half everyday for a month to Marietta, ga but oh so worth it! Finished my first class and hanging around town til the next, love love love doubles!!!
But looking into going to costa rica in february and want to keep up bikram, has anyone found an affordable studio accommodation there? I'm not looking for a week long $1500 dollar retreat more like staying in a raw food community for a month and looking for one near a bikram studio...anyone know???
So tired of doing it for a week here or month there and not keeping it because of travel almost contemplating not going to costa rica and just moving to thailand sooner rather than later since i know they have studios where I'll stay...anyways so happy it was magical being back just had to share real quick!!! :)

Eating and amount of water with bikram?

What do you recommend in terms of timing of eating and how much water to drink with practicing bikram regularly?-I've heard "no eating 2 hours before"... is that still with fruit/veg (quicker digestion)?-how much water do you drink daily?-do you frequently recommend coconut water?-time of day?  (can you do bikram in the morning with not having eaten anything?)Thanks so much for any advice

WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW EVERYONE IS DOING IN THERE PRACTICE OF BIKRAM YOGA AND WHAT KIND OF FOODS THEY ARE EATING? PLEASE SHARE TIME YOU'VE BEEN PRACTICING BIKRAM AND HOW MANY DAYS A WEEK

I think sharing this can help us getting a better understanding of our own practice is doing and maybe be a guide to where we are and where we we would like to go. I've been practicing 4 to 5 days and been eating  mostly Persimmons, Cherries, Champagne Mangos, Melons, Grapes and an Avocado at night. Been practicing 5 and half years and feeling really good. I find when I eat less heavy fruits I am more flexible in the room. When the Detox gets too intense I just up my avocado intake.
