Protein sources (eggs) for children?

Please tell me why eggs are not a good source of protein (besides not being raw vegan).  I know they are disgusting when you think about what they are & where they come from, & I know they can harbor bacteria, & it is not animal friendly, & they are high in cholesterol... but, why specifically would they not be a good source of protein?  I want to be able to explain it to my mom whom, despite being into raw, is still concerned about my kids needing to get enough protein while growing since they probably don't eat enough greens & nuts are more about fat.

Also, should this really be a concern?  I know there's plenty of protein in raw vegan for an adult... but what about growing children?  Do they need more?

What about peanuts/peanut butter... should this be avoided due to possible aflatoxin or might this be a good source as a legume for another protein?

I was just going to say to get her The China Study book which talks about animal protein and it's link to cancer.  Does your Mom get it now, that protein from animals is not good for us?
