  • HI. New here and to being fruity. I went to an Endo recently for possible PCOS. Trying to heal it thru fruity nutrition instead of the band-aid treatments the doc wants me on especially since I get the idea that she really has no clue to what is actually happening inside of me.

I would love to hear from anyone who would want to share their experiences with PCOS and going fruity.

    Thanks.

  • Yeah, I agree with Kris. The pill only masks the symptoms, it doesn't help with the root cause. I reversed almost all symptoms with this lifestyle! Go off the pill!

  • Yea...I used to be on the pill. It clered up every symptom, except it made me gain weight like crazy.  When you go off the pill, your body will raise hell (MAJOR acne, irregular periods etc...)  DONT GO ON IT.  You can help it naturally.  Idk what to tell you about the relationship part though :)

  • Does anyone here take birth control pills?  Way back when, I was told birth control pills help with PCOS.  I'm wondering if anyone here takes it.   Also, it scares me to go off of it, because even with PCOS I worry about not using a birth control (in relationship).

  • Any pregnancy success stories? I'm still trying 7 years in, and still no baby.

  • Hello everyone. Much like simplevegansarah, I'm new here and just now coming across the PCOS forums. I was diagnosed with PCOS last year (at age 24) and have tried many 'fad' diets, including (as recommended by the endocrinologist) adding chicken/egg as the only source of protein to my diet, going on the birth control pill, adding heavy dairy to my diet= all of that failed and I decided to clean up this nonsensical eating by transitioning to a fully vegan diet at the end of last year. Then I came across Freelee's videos and everything started to make sense... high carb lifestyle, raw till 4, cravings for sugar, etc. I have been rawtill4 for a few weeks now (I know, not enough time to see any differences) but intend to continue keeping up with it. Heather - you are such an inspiration, it is so great to hear that you have significantly reduced your PCOS symptoms through 801010 - that is my next goal after nailing rawtil4 (I got the fat under 10 most days, but pretty sure the protein from lentils/beans may be over 10!). Thank you for the info an please keep sharing your experiences with us!! So glad to find so many 'friends' on here who understand and are going through similar things in life. :)

  • Thanks so much Heather. That is so helpful. I think I am not eating enough calories, and that is what is causing my fatty cravings for dinner. I am going to try to pack in as many calories for breafast and lunch, to make sure dinner can stay low fat and see what happens. :)
  • Simplevegansarah, I'm managing or curing/reversing my PCOS eating low fat, high carb, mostly raw fruits and veggies. My acne has cleared 90% after about 2 months of actually keeping my fat and protein within the 80-10-10 guidelines. My hair is regrowing, the dark, velvety patches of skin have lightened so much, and the hirsutism is reduced. Insulin resistance is the major operating factor in PCOS, so keeping the fat very low is really, really important. When I kept my fat above 10%, I was still having dangerous hypoglycemic crises and my hair and skin stayed riddled with pimples, grease, and dandruff. I was craving fat as long as I kept my caloric intake too low (e.g., at or under 2000)... I'd just want to pig out on cashews. Too much salt also made me crave fatty foods, too. I reduced my salt by a lot and increased my calories, focusing on fruit. I make sure to also eat lots of raw and steamed veggies, with the occasional bag of steamed sweet potatoes. The cravings left completely after about a week. Feel free to keep in touch with me if you want some moral support from someone who is also working on fully reversing PCOS :)
  • Hello, I am new here. I joined this group because I have symptoms of PCOS (although not yet diagnosed) and hoped to find out if anyone has had success managing or curing it naturally with the hcrv or rawtil4 diets. I am 27, have been ttc for 2 years, have chronic dandruff, cystic acne on my chin and jaw line, and sometimes have heart palpitations. I tried to go fully raw fruitarian for about 2 weeks (not long enough to give it a good try really), and had to stop due to the high cost. I've been trying my best to eat 801010 cooked vegan, although I have a weakness for peanut butter (horrible right?). I cheat with it a lot. Anybody have any advice on ttc or how to curb my peanut butter cravings?
  • Hey everyone,

I'm new to HCRV and not 100% raw yet but found this group so wanted to join :)

I've not ovulated since March 12 and I'm currently on 1,000 mg of Metformin a day.

Did you guys carry on with your medication while in this lifestyle?

What specifically shrinks the cysts?

I know it's a joint effort amongst all of the lifestyle and fruits/vegetables; but, just as I've read certain foods do this or that better than others....  I'm just wondering if you've ever read about specific properties of fruits/vegetables in terms of cyst-reduction.I would then seek to add more of those to what I'm eating.Thank you very much.

Results with HCCV - or only raw?

Hi everyone,It seems like people have had good results with HCRV.  Has anyone noticed results (ovulation, weight loss, etc) with HCCV?I've been doing mostly HCCV for approx 2 months and haven't really noticed weight loss.  I have not been exercising; however, compared to what I was eating before, it's been a huge improvement. Yet, little to not weight loss.I'm wondering if with PCOS, the results are only with HCRV?Thanks so much for any input.
