  • are you still in san diego? hit up the san diego 811 group on this site, if so!
  • look into WWOOF Hawaii... organic farm work, short-term or long-term, in exchange for a free tent spot and some meals. good luck!
  • Hi Danny, nice art work!
  • Hello Danny,

    How are you?
Sorry for not seeing this message sooner. I am on the road traveling. I like Maui a lot and recommend going and then getting to Mana foods for your fruit and then looking at the bulletin-board for work and places to live. Have a great time if you go and let me know how it goes.
  • I would contact people who are living on the Big Island, there are many more farming opportunities there than on Oahu. They exist on Oahu but are fairly small from what I gather. Oahu is too populated for very large scale farming I think.
    Good Luck!
  • nice site by the way!
  • YES!!!!!

It's great to have you back Danny!!!

That's pretty cool that you made it all the way to San Diego!

I say hit up Papaya Farms Rd. When I was there I never had to spend a cent on food, and if you do things right you can do the same. Both Kumu Aina and Pangaia are great. Both of them should know who I am if you said I recommended those places to you.
  • Ya Dharma farms is where its at! I love the people, truly great.

Papaya farm roads Kumu Aina farms I wasn't able to do work trade but they do have work trade.

Food stamps are easy. As long as you have no money in your bank account your all set. No HI ID necessary. People will tell you what to do.

Unfortunately you can't use stamps at farmers market, but you can offer for work trade and see who is game. All natural food stores cary local fruits that most the farmers market sell so youll be all set if worst comes to worst.

Feel free to call at 9785012067 if you have anymore questions.

  • Hi Danny
we are getting kinda full , i am told by the others here, up north side here but you can stop by and check it out , things change and can not see into the future
suggest you bring good backpack, tent , sleeping bag, headlamp, foot wear, that can get wet
I know of other farms up northside here that have lots of food it is just that most farms sell everything they can and eat cooked and imported food, and can sometimes look down on fruitarians eating there best of the best foods when they are seeing $ signs to pay for bills for the business,, just a thought to be aware of

maybe I can fit you in the valley somewhere
how long you want to stay in Hawaii?
