  • Thank you for the message in regards to your daily diet. I am glad you posted about your blood work because I myself was concerned about how I have been feeling. Today I made three green juices to drink and ate a bunch of celery and was feeling better already. I am going to increase my greens daily. Hoping this helps! :)

  • I see you have chronic fatigue.  interesting you mention iron too.  I am reading a book by a dentist that talks about the connection with mercury/amalgam fillings, root canals, braces, pulled teeth and disease.  chronic fatigue patients have had excellent recovery when having mercury removed correctly from the mouth.  As you probably know, water creatures like fish all have terribly high levels of mercury and are a major source of mercury poisoning in humans.  The dentist has a website from which to order his books, I have read two so far and I think the best one and only one you need is 'It's All In Your Head'.  Highly recommend reading it.  I was able to do an inter-library loan here in the U.S., not sure if you have the same in Australia but it's a fairly popular book so you may have luck there.

Anyway he mentions that mercury in the body can effect the way the body processes iron among other things.  So again I would eat the best you can and follow the other lifestyle factors as best you can.  If you have any dental issues, check out his book, and if you have mercury poisoning from fish intake start eating lots of apples and cilantro while you do more research.

  • Hi Ves,

When I first started 801010, I still believed that I couldn't cut fats out completely and that I needed it for health.  So I was still having 1/2 an avocado or 1 tablespoon of tahini a day.  Also, I would have some plain rice or rice noodles whenever I craved cooked food.  I decided finally that I was going to go 100% raw and no fats and I did experience a pretty quick weight loss.  Sorry I can't give you numbers since I don't weight myself but some stubborn stomach fat was finally gone!  I've never been overweight but I always had that stupid stomach bulge.  My fingernails started growing like crazy (did the fat consumption interfere with that???  I was a vegetarian 6 years before going vegan last year and I could NEVER grow my fingernails) and strangely enough my skin is not dry which leads me to believe that water hydration is the key to smooth skin - not fat intake.

Some people on the community have said that we need omega 3s for brain function and I did experience a bit of an emotional period after going fat free - one member here theorized that I was emotionally detoxing.  I seem to be over that but I did start taking some chia seeds for awhile.  I've stopped that and I have a bag of hemp nuts in the fridge to take in case I think I need to.  I might try having some once a week- I'm not sure.  I'm trying to pay attention to my body as much as possible - and what surprises me the most is that I no longer want/crave fats at all - in fact, taking a tablespoon of hemp seeds is sort of icky.

I'll be interested to hear about your experiences too since I'm still learning and experimenting - good luck!
